Veteran
and Military License Plates The Washington Department of Veteran Affairs (WDVA) is pursuing a series of specialized license plates displaying the emblems of each branch of service. This opportunity is made possible by changes in the way the State Legislature and Department of Licensing handle specialized plate requests. WDVA needs your help to ensure the Veteran and Military License Plates receives approval for the State Legislature during the 2006 session. If you are interested in purchasing a Veteran and Military License Plate, please indicate your support by signing a Signature Sheet (2,000 individual signatures are required) available at the WDVA Olympia office or on the web site www.dva.wa.gov .WDVA will contact you after the 2006 legislative session to notify you whether the measure was approved by State Legislature. Proceeds from the plates will be used to provide: Programs and services for homeless veterans, memorials honoring veterans; and/or maintenance of a future state veteran's cemetery. The plate will initially cost $40, with an annual renewal fee of $30. For each plate sold or renewed, $28 will be used to serve and honor veterans. For more information contact Heidi Audette at heidia@dva.wa.gov or (360) 725-2154.
